Building Addition and Renovation

Richardson Sports has been a leader in the performance and lifestyle headwear industry for over 50 years. They have set themselves apart from the rest by focusing their attention on producing the highest quality products.

McKenzie Commercial was brought on as a CM/GC and joined forces with the Richardson Sports staff and Rowell Brokaw Architects to construct a new building to meet increased production demands and a growing salesforce. This new two-story addition was constructed next to the current one-story building and was separated by a temporary wall during construction.

Even though the new building is structurally independent, a seismic expansion joint was added between the two structures. Tall windows allow for ample daylight throughout the space and offer views of the surrounding landscape. Although it was important to connect these two spaces with similar finishes, the new addition features collaborative central gathering spaces, additional offices and conference rooms.
