McKenzie Commercial has been awarded the contract for the remodel and expansion of Greenhill Humane Society. Since 1944, Greenhill Humane Society has been dedicated to the well-being of the most vulnerable animals in our community. Their life-saving rate is amongst the best in the country, and now they have the facilities to support this level of care.
The project consisted of remodeling and expanding the existing Green Hill Road location from 14,000 to 24,000 square feet, as well as bring both shelters to one location. The first phase of the project included replacing Greenhill's 60 year-old dog kennel building with a new 12,000 square foot facility. Improvements were also made to the cattery and lobby, as well as several new "meet and greet" areas where animals and potential owners can play and get to know one another.
The last phase of the project consists of building a state-of-the-art medical clinic that will greatly increase the level of care provided to the community's homeless, lost and neglected animals. This facility is expected to be completed by the end of February 2020.
